Daniel Berger Career Highlights Video
Driver: Callaway GBB Epic (10.5 degrees)
Shaft: Fujikura Atmos Tour Spec 6X
When Callaway added the Epic to their Great Big Bertha series, the combination of the head and face working together to boost power was quite impressive. First on the list is Callaway’s integrated Jailbreak Technology, which is two ultra-light titanium bars positioned behind the face. With these titanium bars it’s certain that drives will be longer and players will have more control over their shots. Secondly, a new aerospace-grade, titanium Exo-Cage gives the Epic the lightest crown that Callaway has ever produced, weighing in at only 9.7 grams. This design gives the driver a high MOI and a low CG, which allows players to easily launch a strong, low-spin drive. Finally, a redesigned adjustable track system known as “Perimeter Weighing” technology features heavier weights to help deliver up to 21 yards of shot-shaping ability. This technology was a drastic improvement for Callaway, a 22% increase over the average distance of the original Great Big Bertha. The Great Big Bertha Epic is an incredible driver and will provide any player with more speed, distance, and control.
- Integrated jailbreak technology for increased average distance.
- Exo-Cage and Triaxial Carbon Construction for a high-launch, low-spin design resulting in longer drives.
- Newly designed adjustable perimeter weighting for precision shot-shaping control.
- Speed Step technology for improved aerodynamics and faster club head speeds.
Fairway Wood: 5 Wood: Callaway Rogue Sub Zero (18 degrees)
Shaft: Fujikura Pro Tour Spec 85X
Callaway continues to be a leader in high-end fairway woods and the Rogue Sub Zero solidifies that. The Callaway Rogue Sub Zero wood is another example of how Callaway combines technology between the face and the head. With the power of its Jailbreak and Face Cup Technology, this combinations promotes faster ball speed across a larger part of the face for consistent long distances. Additionally, the new Triaxial Carbon Crown design increases MOI and provides lower spin. This design includes a 5-gram weight screw in the sole’s front to help move the CG lower and forward in order to achieve less spin for longer distance. Finally, the design of Callaway’s Speed Step in size, shape, and position helps promote faster head speed by the improved airflow. The Callaway Rogue Sub Zero is a powerful fairway wood that will certainly help any player improve his or her long game.
- Integrated jailbreak technology, for the first time in a wood, increases ball speed and distance.
- Face Cup technology increases ball speed on shots hit across the entire face.
- 5-gram weight screw positions CG low and forward for lower launch and low spin and long distance.
- New Speed Step technology on the crown improves aerodynamics, letting the club swing faster.
Irons: Callaway Apex (3, 4), Callaway MB1 (5-PW)
Shaft: Project X 6.5
When Callaway designed the Apex irons they listened to Tour players who wanted a classic look with more functional shape and design. The Apex series is a premium forged set that’s been engineered with quadruple net forging and a progressive flow weighting layout. This combination keeps the authentic look and soft feel while providing the precision, playability, and the MOI players desire. Callaway also made adjustments between the long irons and short irons. While the longer irons (3-5) have a slightly more offset and tungsten insert to lower the CG, the shorter irons (6-P) have a progressively higher CG for more control. With their classic features and new engineering the Callaway Apex irons are a great choice to add to any player’s arsenal
The Callaway MB1 irons are currently unavailable to the public however the Callaway Apex irons previously discussed are rather similar in features.
